We are seeking an experienced Business Development Associate in Chicago, IL.

Product Sales  – Prospect, source, and maintain quality key account customers in assigned customer segment.  Achieve and exceed assigned sales goals by developing action plans and schedules to identify specific sales prospects, targets, and/or markets and to project number of contacts to be made. Manage, call on, and sell industrial equipment directly to customers.  Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity and as through direct calls and promotion.  Establish rapport and maintain regular contact with existing and new customers (particularly key accounts). Respond promptly to customer inquiries.  Introduce new products and service upgrades.  Understand customer needs and coordinate within the Edmac team to ensure their needs are met.   Actively engage in planned prospecting activities geared at increasing the customer purchase, and continually increase your market share. This role is the primary contact for all distributors and customers within this segment.
 
Obtain, develop or otherwise prepare, deliver, and present sales materials, exhibits, and promotional programs.  Maintain customer base, quotations and calendar daily.  Prepare and present quotes, proposals, pricing, credit terms, and review terms and conditions.
 
Maintain a professional image at all times through personal actions and initiatives.  Enhance division and Company reputation and brand image by consistently working to implement the Company’s core values of commitment, interaction, and innovation.
 
Personal Development  – Through training and development, remain current in the product knowledge and sales/marketing skills necessary to be effective in the position. 
 
Reporting – Prepare monthly reports as needed with an update of the current customer prospects as well as red flags with opportunity for growth.  

Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience requirements

  • Four year degree in business or marketing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant technical, industrial sales experience a must, preferably in the compressed air industry.
  • Must be self-directed.
  • Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have proven business analysis skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Up to 20% over night travel.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
